3XX trains are
Hiawatha Service between Chicago and Milwaukee.
Trains usually run from on time to about 15 minutes late.
Hiawatha trains are usually about 5
Horizon fleet or
Amfleet cars with power provided by a
SC-44 Charger locomotive on each end. The south-facing locomotive is sometimes replaced by a
cabbage made from a former
F40PH. The equipment for northbound trains usually becomes the next southbound train, with the last nortbound spending the night in the depot and becomming the next day's first southbound.
Trains 7 and 8 are
Empire Builder, daily service between Chicago and Seattle/Portland.
Train #7 usually runs within 10 minutes early or late. Train #8 can run anywhere from 10 minutes early to several hours late.
Empire Builder consists are usually made of 2
P42DC locomotives, a baggage car, 3 or 4 sleeper cars (one of which is for crew use), 3 to 5 coach cars, a diner, and a sightseer cafe/lounge car. All passenger cars are from the
Superliner fleet.
